  • 1918-  Bjorn Wiinblad was born in Copenhagen Denmark.
  • He studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen.
  • 1946-  He started at Nymølle Faiencefabrik Denmark. In several years he was owner of Nymoelle. The production stoppet in the 1990's.
  • 1952-  Started his own workshop studio in Copenhagen.
  • 1956-  Started to design for Rosenthal Porzellan AG Studio Linie in Germany. Later he was Chief-Designer on Rosenthal.
  • 1977-  Wiinblad bought the Danish pottery Knabstrup Keramiske Fabrikker, and combined it with Nymolle.
  • 2006-  Bjorn Wiinblad  died in June.
  • 2006-  The production on Wiinblads Pottery continued few years.

Bjørn Wiinblad wurde 1918 in Kopenhagen
geboren. Er studierte an der Königlichen Kunstakademie in Kopenhagen bei Jörgensen Malerei und Illustration. In dieser Zeit entdeckte er seine Liebe zur Keramik. Seit 1946 arbeitete er für die Fayencefabrik „Nymölle“, 1952 baute er seine erste eigene Werkstatt.
Bjørn Wiinblad wurde von Musik, Theater und der Märchenwelt inspiriert. Immer wieder fand er neue Bereiche mit denen er sich auseinandersetzte.
Er entwarf unter anderem Keramik in verschiedenen Techniken, Plakate und Briefkarten,
Theater- und Ballettinszenierungen, aber auch Bronzen, Gobeline oder Möbel so wie Stoffe und Tapeten.
Seit 1957 war Bjørn Wiinblad als freier Designer für Rosenthal tätig. Durch eine Vielzahl von Serviceformen und Geschenkartikeln hat er den phantasiebetonten Teil der Rosenthal Studio- Line entscheidend geprägt.
Werke von Bjørn Wiinblad werden in zahlreichen Museen und Sonderausstellungen gezeigt.
Er lebte und arbeitete in seinem „Blauen Haus“ in der Nähe von Kopenhagen.
